A big thank you to the Burwood East Primary School community for getting involved in our free dress day on Monday February 10th. There were so many students that came to school in free dress and donated a gold coin.
As a school we raised almost $900 to help Clifton Creek Primary School purchase resources to assist with the rebuilding of their school.
I am sure there are many families that donate to other causes and through other avenues and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and also recognise one of our students in Year Two.
Jayden made a decision that he wanted to help Clifton Creek PS with more than a gold coin, so he emptied out his piggy bank and donated $20. He said, ‘I wanted to give the school more things and be nice to others’. Although he had saved up this money he said, ‘It made me feel better giving it to others that really needed it.’
This is another great story of how our Burwood East PS students are kind and caring and we should be really proud of these young leaders.
