At Burwood East Primary School, Mandarin is offered to students from Foundation to Year 6.  We believe that learning Mandarin is not only about learning another language, but also about cultural enrichment and awareness.  Our students will embark on an exciting adventure exploring the fascinating world of Chinese language and culture.  Through various classroom and multimedia exercises, educational games and festivities, we aim to provide our students with skills and the confidence to embrace the Chinese culture.

Burwood East Primary School has a sister school - Zheng Jiang Zhong Shan Road Primary School in Jiang Su Province, China.  This partnership has provided our students with great opportunities to build upon their language learning, develop cultural knowledge and intercultural competence and to interact with the students and teachers from China.
