At Burwood East Primary School, we are working hard to become more sustainable throughout our daily lives.
Each day, compost is collected from the classrooms by students who then feed it to the chickens or put it in the Compost Bins.
We are working on developing our garden to have produce that can be eaten and shared amongst students and our school community. Each class has a garden bed which they are responsible for growing and looking after vegetables.
Students have the role of looking after the several chickens that we have at our school. We feed them using the scraps from the classroom Compost Bins. The eggs are collected by students and sold to members of the community.
Students are monitoring the use of electricity in the school and reminding people to be more energy efficient.
